Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced AWS Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS services, particularly EC2, along with expertise in a Linux environment running Oracle multi-tenant databases. Strong knowledge and experience implementing Oracle and AWS monitoring tools.
Note: This is a HYBRID position based in Hillsborough, NJ. This position requires 2 days a week on site, while the intial training period will require 5 days on site.
Key Responsibilities
- The AWS Engineer will be responsible for configuring and managing new EC2 Oracle Linux based servers.
- Strong Oracle and Linux skills are essential to this position.
- Using AWS tools, the engineer will set up automated alerts, metrics tracking, and logs to detect and respond to system and database anomalies and performance issues in a timely manner.
- Experience deploying and integrating OEM in an EC2 environment.
Required Skill Set
- 3 + years’ experience working with AWS services, particularly EC2. IAM, VPC, System Manager, CloudWatch and CloudTrail
- Strong background in Oracle database management and performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Experience Troubleshooting Linux server performance issues, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing CPU, memory, and disk I/O for efficient system operation.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred skills
- Proficient in Unix/Linux system administration including scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Shell to automate tasks.
